Yet another larp – but this time, a new premiere! Sverre Markus Launes Johannessen will run his first larp, The Adoration of the Seraphim, at this year's festival.

Once every 100 years the Order of the Seraphim gather for the high mass known simply as the Adoration. The Adoration marks the passage of a dying cherubim and the reincarnation as Seraphim. The Seraphim, ranking highest among the angels in power and sheer magnificence is merely mentioned once in the Scripture, yet the description gives a glimpse of the sheer beauty and power of the seraphim as they circle god itself in its throne:
Above him (God) were Seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory."
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
Isaiah 6:2-4

The Adoration of the Seraphim is a non-verbal cult-like ritual/larp; it focuses on collaborative movement and dance to provide adoration that aims to celebrate the ascension of an angel of immense power and glory. One participant will play the Cherubim/Seraphim, while remaining players will fill the role as high-ministers and worshippers.
